
(Fun!) Application Instructions
Before you apply, please carefully review these application instructions. In order to create the best experience for every camper, it is essential that applicants complete all steps. Campers who fail to do so risk losing their spot at camp.
PLEASE NOTE: We communicate via email and so you MUST check your email regularly for updates and important information about camp.
What You Will Need
1. Payment
The price for camp is as follows
Peak (Overnight only) - July 3-8 $625
River Valley (Overnight) - July 10-15 $625
River Valley (Day) - July 11-15 $525
Due to rising facility rental and food costs, YouthWrite has, regrettably, found it necessary to increase registration fees for the 2016 year. YouthWrite is committed to making our camps as affordable as possible. Registration fees are subsidized substantially using funds derived from grants, a multitude of fundraising initiatives, and the generosity of our donors. Applicants in financial need are encouraged to consider scholarship options detailed here.
Online Payment
We are now accepting online e-transfers to our [email protected]. If you are paying online via PayPal, you will notice a slight increase in the price upon final payment, which covers the cost of PayPal’s service charges of approximately 3%.
Cancellation Policy
While we understand plans can change, we are obligated to make a number of financial commitments prior to camp to secure facilities, staff, etc. Every YouthWrite application includes a non-refundable $100 fee to cover administrative costs. However, a full refund will be made in the even an applicant is not accepted into the program. Cancellations without further penalty are permitted up to and including June 15, 2016 (Peak) or June 22, 2016 (River Valley). No refunds after this date.
2. Essential Documents
In addition to payment and essential contact and health information, you will need to provide the following documents:
- Writing Sample: one poem (max. 75 lines) OR one sample of prose (max. 2 pages)
Samples MUST be word-processed, 12-point font, double-spaced. (Do NOT send originals)
- Letter of Reference (not a family member)
- Answer to the four YouthWrite questions:
1. What school courses have you completed in English/Language Arts?2. What extra-curricular creative writing courses/ workshops/ activities have you previously participated in?3. Has your writing been published? If so, where?4. What are your reasons for wanting to attend YouthWrite?

** Please note that applicants who choose not to apply online will still be required to create an account on CampFax, our secure registration system.
Instructions for Online Registration
Apply and Pay
Once you have prepared your documents, click the link at the bottom of this page to begin applying to YouthWrite. After you complete the application and payment process, you will receive an email notification. At this time, we will review your application and process your payment. This may take a few days, so please be patient!
Register
As soon as we’ve processed your application and payment, we will send you an email noting your conditional acceptance to camp. In this email, you will receive a link to CampFax, our secure registration database. There you will be asked to provide necessary contact and health information, parental permissions, and to upload your supporting documents.
Official Acceptance and Course Selection
Once the Coordinator has reviewed and assessed your documents, you’ll receive an official acceptance to camp via email. When course selection is open (usually a few weeks before camp), you will be informed and asked to make your choices, in order of applicant acceptance, online via CampFax.

Register
Once we have processed your application and payment, we will send you an email noting your conditional acceptance to camp. In addition, we will kindly as that you create an account on CampFax, our secure registration system. There you will be asked to provide necessary contact and health information, parental permissions, and to upload your supporting documents.
Official Acceptance and Course Selection

Once you’ve done all this, all you have to do is come to camp!
