Storytelling Circle - Work with a hands-on activity as a metaphor of how stories are passed on. Tololwa will share the metaphor and a brief compelling story, after which you, in a circle, will retell the story according to its flow from beginning to the end, in a way that is as natural as possible. Share a snippet of the story in your own way, e.g. in with a word, a sentence, etc. passing it around the circle. You'll be challenged to make the story last the entire circle in the interest of sharing the narrative fairly among the tellers. Then the challenge is to repeat the story several times, making it shorter and shorter yet keeping it largely intact, bearing in mind the ‘attention economy’ of any given audience. In the process, you’ll be encouraged to employ, as naturally as possible, elements of storytelling likely to captivate an audience.
