Registration is now OPEN!!


  • Continuing as long as the Alberta teachers' strike
  • 9:00AM-3:00PM (MST)
  • Please bring a bag lunch and water bottle
  • Art supplies are provided
  • For ages 8-15
  • $30/day/child
  • $20/day/child of ATA teacher
  • Depending on registration numbers, camp will either take place at
    McLuhan House (11342 64 St) or Highlands United Church (11305 64 St).
    We will let registrants know via email.
  • Registration for the following day ends each day at 3pm. You may register for more than one day at a time.
  •  TO REGISTER Please fill out all the registration form and if you are registering more than one participant, please register each participant individually and add each to cart. 

YEG Fall Day Camp fee includes

Morning of visual art followed by an afternoon of table-top games, improv games, writing classes, and outdoor activities

 Mason Repka (He/They)


Bio

Mason Repka is a professional Game Master, working in both table-top and LARP (live-action roleplaying) mediums. Mason runs adventures and writing workshops for youth and adults, and is the creator/director of Dark Ascension LARP. Mason is also blessed to work as an office bee and communications manager at YouthWrite, with Gail and Tania. They've studied English, Creative Writing, and Massage Therapy at MacEwan University and the University of Victoria, and recently retired from being a Registered Massage Therapist after 12 years of practice, to focus on wizard stuff... pondering orbs, plotting adventures, general whimsy, and their undying passion for all things YouthWrite. 




 Chelsea Wong


Bio

Chelsea is an illustrator from Edmonton, Alberta. She has a background that features a Diploma for Fine Arts and for Digital Illustration. Since then she has produced work in multiple mediums and specializes in Digital Art and Illustration, producing illustrations for zines, merchandise, and her own self published comic book Jezebel. You can find her work at many Albertan conventions!




 Spyder Yardley-Jones


Bio

Spyder is an internationally recognized cartoonist, painter and sculptor who's been teaching at YouthWrite since its inception. Spyder's artwork has been on exhibition in the USA and Canada including at the Art Gallery of Alberta and most recently at the YardBird Suite. He has illustrated an award-winning graphic novel, Jamie’s Got a Gun, written by Gail Sidonie Sobat, in addition to creating artwork for The Roxie Theatre's production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch, and illustrating the graphic story, The Lofts, by Rylan Kafara. 



YEG Fall Day Camp Coordinator

Tania Gigliotti (She/Her)

is the little Hobbit you may have seen previously working in the children's section of bookstores and comic book stores around Edmonton. When she's not working for YouthWrite, she is the Project Manager on the Young People are the Future Project researching youth engagement in living history museums. At YouthWrite, she is Master of Excel and Campfax and also Communications Manager. 




YouthWrite Director-Coordinator

Gail Sidonie Sobat (She/They)


is a multi-award-winning teacher and author, with twelve books for children, teens and adults, and a number of educational and academic articles. A Global News Woman of Vision and an Arts and Culture Citation Award recipient, she is the YouthWrite creator/ coordinator, an international presenter, an instructor in the professional writing program at MacEwan University and in the Faculty of Education at U of A. Gail was The Writers’ Union of Canada Regional Representative for Alberta, NWT and Nunavut, and writer in residence with the Metro Edmonton Federation of Libraries. 


She has moved forty times in her life from Badlands to Siksika Nation Reserve to hideous suburbs to Istanbul to the Sunshine Coast to her writer’s garret in a century-old temperamental house. She adores all of her Supers & Coordinators equally, and loves YouthWrite like a madwoman!
